Raptim Football Academy in The Gambia supports the development of over 100 players in West Africa

At youth level they have u10, u13, u15, u17, boys & girls and their women’s team recently progressed to the national first division league last season after winning their play-off final.

Kit and equipment is terribly expensive in West Africa, which is the single biggest barrier to clubs like Raptim supporting children and young people from participating in our much loved game.

Thanks to kind donations from our Paul Canoville Foundation friends Leon Hutchinson, Jade Ramm at the City of Peterborough Futsal Centre & Girls United FC, Steve Thorpe at Free Kicks Foundation (who helped find a new home for the last season’s Peterborough United FC Women’s kit) and the Club Committee at Yaxley FC, the Paul Canoville Foundation has been able to send 17 boxes of much needed match kit, training equipment, footballs, football boots, children’s care packages and also women’s sanitary products to Gambia.

Special thanks to MOTiQ who stored and packaged all the donations, plus Zenchuk Logistics Solutions who distributed the items from Peterborough to Birmingham for free, ready for their onward journey later this month to Raptim FC in Banjul.

This is true partnership work in action and we can’t wait to see these items begin their new life, very soon!
