Our Education Partnership programme has now launched, with our newest partners in the Midlands.
What happened?
The PCF team of Paul, Raphael, Marcus, Alexia and our special guests Leonie, Patrick, Jason and Mr Prospect, landed at our first partner school – Hartshill Academy – early enough to see the students beginning to arrive for their school day.
From there we broadcast into every classroom across the four schools that we would be visiting that day – to over 3,500 children and young people. Paul (Founder) and Raphael (CEO) spoke about the work we will be collaborating on with students, then Marcus (COO) and Alexia (Trustee) candidly described their personal reasons for supporting the Paul Canoville Foundation.
We then officially launched the day with our specially commissioned video featuring Duke Al, which provided an exciting introduction to the new partnership we were making with the schools and students that day. Check it out here:
Then came the first of four assemblies with Year 7 and 8 students, with a panel discussion hosted by Leonie Carpenter and featuring Patrick Hutchinson, Jason Lee and Mr Prospect – who represent our Partnership ABC values of Allyship, Belonging and Community.
Before each assembly, we showed more special video content to give the young people an insight into who and why we chose each of our guests to represent our values:
Each of our panellists, plus host Leonie, answered insightful questions around their life experiences through the lens of positive change and education, including some great input from the young audience — with the best student questions rewarded with signed copies of Paul’s autobiography and PCF tee shirts.
After Hartshill, we made the short journey across to The George Eliot Academy, followed by Nuneaton Academy and then finally Heath Lane Academy where we ate lunch, debriefed, and held the final assembly.
During all four of the assemblies, the pupils behaved impeccably and were an absolute credit to their schools.
After each assembly, the schools were presented with their Paul Canoville Foundation Education Partner sign for the front of the school and each Principal signed their “ABC pledge” with Paul.
What‘s next for the young people?
The Paul Canoville Foundation will be working with each school to appoint a PCF Student Committee, who, alongside a PCF facilitator, will work to develop several actionable initiatives that will help improve ABC outcomes within their school, which the teaching staff will help to support.
Future Partners
We will continue to roll out our partnership in the next quarter, when the new academic year starts. We will announce which four United Learning Schools are up next, but if you would like to bring your school into the partnership, then you can apply here.
